N-Control takes on the control, motion and vision parts of a machine — from a single tricky axis to the complete software for a new line.
Servo and motion control
Sizing and selection of motors, gearboxes and drives; commissioning and tuning; and the motion software itself — interpolated moves, electronic gearing and camming, registration control, flying cut-offs, tension and winding control. Where cycle time or accuracy is the constraint, this is usually where it is won or lost.
Robot movement and integration
Getting a robot to move is the easy part. I handle the part that is not: coordinating it with conveyors and machine sequences, tracking moving parts, handing off safely between robot and machine, and exposing it through an operator interface that production staff can actually use.
Custom vision systems
Off-the-shelf sensors solve off-the-shelf problems. When yours is not one of those, I build the system around the part: camera, optics and lighting chosen for the feature that matters, image processing written for it, and the result delivered as a decision the machine can act on — reject, adjust, or guide the robot to the part.
PLC and machine software
Complete machine control on Beckhoff, Siemens, Trio Motion and other CoDeSys-based platforms: sequencing, recipe handling, alarms and diagnostics, operator interfaces, and data out to the systems above. Written in a structured, documented way so the next person to open it — mine or yours — can follow it.
Retrofit and modernisation
Mechanically sound machines with obsolete controls are worth keeping. I replace the control and drive system, reproduce the behaviour the operators rely on, and use the opportunity to add the diagnostics and data the original never had.
Commissioning and troubleshooting
On-site start-up, performance tuning, and help with machines that are not meeting rate or quality. Also available as a second opinion when a project is stuck and you need someone who has seen the same failure before.
